BEATING A DEAD HORSE

One uncomfortable fact people like to ignore is that the Ice Age hasn’t ended yet. Nope. The glaciers have receded, sure, but they’re not gone, and they will grow back, covering much of the northern hemisphere under mile-thick sheets of ice.

We are in an interglacial period. Meaning, we are in a period between glaciers.

Think of an ice age like a mega-winter. See, in the winter it doesn’t snow every day, does it? It’s not even unusual to get a few days which are on the warm side. Maybe not “Hot,” but definitely not frigid. But these winter days when it doesn’t snow… when it seems a bit on the warm side… they don’t mean that the winter is over, do they? Well it’s similar with an “InterGlacial” period — like this one — during an ice age. Not exactly the same, but similar.

Punch THAT into your “Global Warming” mantra, why don’t you…

Something else this cite I’ve linked to makes clear: As far as we can tell, previous “InterGlacial” periods (during THIS ice age) peaked at higher temperatures than we are presently experiencing. Meaning, the earth is getting warmer, yes, but as far as the best science is telling us the earth will grow warmer no matter what we do, even if we completely depopulate the planet. And then the glaciers will return.

Now I’m going to tell you to do something that almost nobody will do: Seek other citations. Look for other sources of information. Don’t base the rest of your life on one GOVERNMENT website. And be cynical. Be skeptical. Think.

Yes, I know, I know… “But man-made Global Warming is a religion, and you can’t expect me to question the existence of my god.”

Oh yes, the old trope of “STUFF IS COLD GUYS SO THERE’S NO GLOBAL WARMING”. Yes, we are in an interglacial, but no that does not mean that global warming isn’t real. It’s a bad bad bad bad bad bad bad fucking awful argument, rife with terrible fallacies. First thing’s first: weather and climate-not the same thing. Secondly, global warming doesn’t mean we all catch ablaze and Earth becomes a burnt-ass char circling the sun. Thirdly, global warming isn’t just about heat and this shit aint that black and white. Global warming also means more erratic changes in observable weather.

If you’re going to be a denialist you might want to learn how to argue, and how not to produce faulty arguments or fallacies in your defences.
